TARAN

Taran were formed in the summer of 2023 by a group of school friends to perform at Tafwyl as part of the ‘yn Cyflwyno’ project. Since then, the young roc band from Cardiff have gigged all over Wales, as well as London and Brittanny.

Taran won a ‘Selar’ award for their 2024 EP, ‘Dyweda, Wyt Ti’…. in 2025.
They released their debut album, ‘Yn Y Cymylau’ in August 2025 under JigCal Records, which includes a mix of songs about love, mental health and politics performed with blends of rock and ballads.

With influences from rock, pop, and pop-punk, Tarans sound is unique. Their track ‘Popeth (DDIM) Yn Iawn’ came in at 9th place on Rhys Mwyn’s 2025 alternative chart.
