LLIO HELEDD

Llio Heledd is originally from Treforus, Swansea, and after her studies in Aberystwyth and Utrecht, she now lives in Cardiff.

There, she began composing songs with the guitar and experimenting with cynghanedd (a traditional form of Welsh poetic harmony). This ancient style of Welsh poetry can be heard in her songs and in her first single, “Afon”, which reflects on her experience of a Welsh upbringing in Swansea as a young child.

Her style and songs have an acoustic and folk feel, including a song that takes pride in the Swansea area and its docks.
