Growing up on the geographical edge of things has given Lavant's sound a unique urgency. The trio from the shores of the Irish Sea in north Pembrokeshire take inspiration from the British Invasion bands of the 60's and American Surf Rock, but also from the swagger of Britpop and the angst of Grunge.

Their tight interplay is the basis for stories about love and lust, about the folly of youth, jealousy and joy, sung with a sincerity that is typical of those who grew up at the end of the nullah.
